Mr. V.T. Moorthy had worked with Aditya Birla group of Companies for about 45 years starting with HINDALCO, under guidance of 4 generations of Aditya Birla group management with wide experience of heading many departments like Production, Maintenance, Asset Management, Technology Development, etc., within India and in overseas companies - in Thailand, China and Australia.

Mr Moorthy was the CEO of many Aditya Birla Units for example as the Managing Director of Tanfac Industries Ltd., President of Vikram Ispat (Sponge iron plant), Business Director for Chemicals like Grasim, Indian Rayon in India and Business Director in Thailand for companies like Thai Phosphates, Thai Sulphites, Thai Epoxy, Thai Organics, & Thai Peroxide.

He is one of the pioneer Managers, who introduced Japanese TPM in India (in 1993 in Tanfac) and for the last 27 years guiding various teams to implement JIPM-TPM. He is a founder member of TPM club India.

He has integrated the concepts of TPM, RCM, TQM, Lean Maintenance, Six Sigma, and TMS and developed a total world class management excellence system in Aditya Birla group.

Mr Moorthy is a good teacher, and guided many young professionals in implementing TPM. He has conducted health check-up audits for many chemical plants in India

I want to introduce him more personally from CSDS point of view, this skill training program was the brain child of mr ilanaghai, mr moorthy and mr stalin.

Mr Venkatraghavan is the President – Food Ingredients Business of Thirumalai Chemicals Limited (TCL) and President (Chemical Industries Association) and an active member in several Industry association like ICC, CII and FICCI.

He has around 30 years of experience in the Chemical Industry in various roles spanning R&D, Technical Services, Marketing & Business Management. In his career he has worked on several projects including phasing out of ozone depleting substances under the Montreal Protocol and on a clean development project under the Kyoto Protocol.

Currently, he is involved in a project that TCL is building in the US for Food Ingredients, that will make TCL the largest producer of these chemicals in the World.

At TCL, Mr Venkatraghavan also drives several Corporate initiatives in addition to his role as a business head for food ingredients.

Prior to joining Thirumalai he was with the Fumed Silica Business of Cabot Corporation. He holds Master’s Degrees in Technology and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

XAVIER M J

Prof. M J Xavier obtained his B.Tech. from CIT Coimbatore(1976), M.Tech. from REC Warangal(1979), and the Fellow title from IIM Calcutta(1984). He served as a research Executive with Mode Research, Calcutta (presently acquired by GFK Global) during 1982-84. He also served in SPIC Limited from 1985 to 1990. Then he moved to academics and taught at IIM Bangalore from 1990 to 1996. After that, he held leadership positions in Karunya Institute of technology (Vice Chancellor), IFMR (Dean), SRM University (Dean), Great Lakes Institute of Management (Program Director), VIT University (Executive Director), and IIM Ranchi (Director). Currently, he is serving as a Professor of Business Analytics & Chairperson – Centre for Technology and Innovation in LIBA, Chennai.
He has also taught for two years in CalPoly University in San Louis Obispo, California, USA, and for a semester each in Buckingham University UK, Texas Christian University, USA, and the American University of Armenia in Yerevan, Armenia. He has also taught courses on marketing at PIM Colombo, SP Jain Singapore, and Dubai campuses.
He has authored 3 books, including the award-winning book titled, Marketing in the New Millennium. He has authored more than 100 research papers and has contributed extensively to business dailies and magazines.
He has won several awards that include, Most Motivating Faculty at IIM Bangalore, Chanakya award for Innovative leadership, Amity Academic excellence award, AIMS award for Outstanding B-school Director, ET Now award for Academic leadership, and so on.
